The Sandman will compete in his retirement match this April as part of the tenth edition of Joey Janela’s Spring Break in Las Vegas.

Joey Janela and Game Changer Wrestling announced on Saturday that the ECW legend will perform in his final match at the event on April 17. No opponent has yet been named.

The announcement establishes a pattern for the Spring Break brand, as The Sandman made a surprise appearance at last year’s event during Sabu’s retirement match against Janela.

Real name James Fullington, the 62-year-old is best known as a central figure in the rise of Extreme Championship Wrestling. As “The Sandman,” he became one of the promotion’s most popular acts, famous for his “Enter Sandman” entrance through the crowd, beer-drinking, and usage of a Singapore cane. He holds the record for the most ECW World Heavyweight Championship reigns with five.

Following his initial run in ECW, Fullington had stints in WCW, TNA, and WWE as part of its ECW revival brand. His career began in 1989 and spans nearly 900 recorded matches. He most recently wrestled in October 2025 for a promotion in New Jersey.
