Tony Khan is shedding more light on a possible return for Dr. Britt Baker, leaning more toward “when” and not “if”.
Speaking on The Battleground podcast before tonight’s Dynamite in Las Vegas, Khan was asked about the status of the missing women’s star, who has not wrestled since November 2024.
Khan praised Baker and cited the additional opportunities on Dynamite and Collision, as well as signing many more young talents. He said, “I would expect to see Britt back in AEW. I just don’t wanna say when” while noting he would love to have her back in AEW “soon”.
Baker was the first female signing by the promotion in 2019 and participated in the inaugural All In in September 2018. In May 2021, she won the AEW Women’s Championship at Double or Nothing and held it until the following March, when she lost to Thunder Rosa in a steel cage match on Dynamite.
The 34-year-old had a previous hiatus in 2023 and 2024, returning in June and announcing she had suffered a “mini stroke”, which led to the lengthier absence.
Her last appearance in November 2024 featured Serena Deeb confronting her for a challenge, and Baker appearing to blow off the challenge by telling Deeb that “nobody cares” and hasn’t been used since.
