AJ Styles on another match: “I think everyone’s allowed at least once to come out of retirement”

AJ Styles is not completely shutting the door on another wrestling match.

The WWE performer appeared on What’s Your Story? with Stephanie McMahon and spoke about Saturday’s match with Gunther and the post-match, where he opted to keep his gloves on, rather than leave them in the ring.

When asked what that meant, Styles responded, “I don’t know. Never say never, right? I think everyone’s allowed at least once to come out of retirement. I’m not saying I’ll do it anytime soon.”

He thought out the scenario, “What if my son wrestles? The opportunity to tag with him once? You never know. There will be a time that the gloves will never go back on, and it may be now, but we’ll see.”

Styles began his career in 1999 on the Georgia independent scene and wrestled for WCW during its final months of operation.

In 2002, he joined NWA TNA at its launch and became one of its biggest stars over the next decade until leaving eleven years later to wrestle for NJPW.

Styles made his debut for the WWE in January 2016, becoming a two-time WWE champion and holding the Intercontinental, United States, and various versions of the tag titles.
