Why don’t more people talk about Shinya Hashimoto? John Pollock and Wai Ting are joined by WH Park as they dive into classic matches from the most internationally overlooked member of NJPW’s famed “Three Musketeers.”
They discuss the influence of Hashimoto’s stiff-striking style on modern wrestling, his pivotal match against Nobuhiko Takada in the NJPW vs. UWFi invasion, the ‘January 4th Incident’ of 1999 where Naoya Ogawa allegedly legitimately attacked him under orders from Antonio Inoki, and one of the last great matches of his career against AJPW contemporary Toshiaki Kawada, taking place shortly before Hashimoto’s untimely passing at the age of 40.
