Trey Miguel Gets Jumped

TNA Thursday Night Impact from Albuquerque kicked off with Trey Miguel taking on Adam Brooks with Arianna Grace on commentary. Grace talked about Stacks Lorenzo and how much she wanted her father to respect him. Early in the match, Miguel blew a kiss to Grace as he was set to face Lorenzo for the International title. For those unfamiliar, this was the TNA debut for the Australian Adam Brooks, who has been wrestling since 2010.

Brooks showed well in this match, getting a near fall after a sit-out powerbomb. However, Miguel recovered and hit the Lightning Spiral for the win. After the match, Stacks attacked Miguel, hitting him with the International title, and Arianna Grace entered the ring, visibly upset with Stacks.

Backstage, Indi Hartwell and the Angel Warriors were interviewed ahead of their match against the Elegance Brand.

The Righteous “In Action”

Next up was a tag team match that saw The Righteous taking on Tommy Two Scoops and BW3. This was essentially a squash with The Righteous picking up the win in just over two minutes. Vincent and Dutch cut a promo after the match, addressing The Hardys, saying they didn’t want a war; they wanted to stand beside them.

This cut to a backstage Hardy’s promo where they wondered about starting a new “Freaky Team Extreme” with them. The System approached and attacked the Hardys, leaving them lying. This was very poorly done, especially for a pre-tape.

Frankie Kazarian Addresses His Enemies

After a commercial break, Frankie Kazarian was seen shaking hands with Daria Rae. Kazarian came out to the stage and called Mike Santana tough but not a good representative of TNA. Kazarian continued, saying that Santana defeated a one-armed man, referring to his surgically repaired hand. Frankie then revealed that Daria Rae had assured him things would change. The lights went out, and Elijah appeared but walked past Kazarian to the ring.

Elijah & Stone vs. Ali & Steelz

Next up was the mixed tag match as Mustafa Ali and Tasha Steelz took on Elijah and Jada Stone. Early in the match, Elijah picked up Jada Stone and threw her onto Ali, Steelz, and Order 4.

After a commercial break, Stone hit a lightning-quick Split-Legged Moonsault on Steelz. Special Agent Zero then attacked Elijah behind the referee’s back, and Ali and Stone went at it, hitting Ali with two consecutive DDTs. Stone followed that up with a Moonsault to the outside onto Order 4. Ali then leveled Stone with a sliding drop kick and threw Elijah into the steps. Stone recovered and hit Ali with a Stunner and seemingly had Ali pinned, but Steelz made the save. Ali then hit Stone with Elijah’s own Highway Man’s Farewell, aka Jumping Tombstone Piledriver, for the win.

This was a fun match that did a great job showcasing Jada Stone.

Backstage, Arianna Grace complained to Santino Marella that she had had a fight with Stacks and that she would never be a great wrestler. Grace asked for a title match to see if she could stand on her own. Grace guilted Santino by saying it would make it up to her for missing her Sweet 16 for “that live event in Australia,” and Santino reluctantly agreed.

No Surrender Coming into Focus

Daria Rae announced that the No Surrender card would feature Stacks Lorenzo defending his International Title against Trey Miguel, The Hardys and The Righteous teaming up to take on Order 4, and Mike Santana & Leon Slater would team to take on Nic Nemeth and Eddie Edwards. Santino Marella appeared and added Lei Ying Lee vs. Arianna Grace for the Knockouts Title as well.

Daria Rae scoffed, saying that was nepotism, but then noticed Steve Maclin was backstage. Marella said he allowed Maclin to be there to say goodbye. Rae became irate and said she would complain to the board.

Steve Maclin cut a promo saying it sucked to leave, but he was doing so with his head held high. As he went to leave, he ran into Mike Santana, who thanked Maclin for everything he’s done for TNA. The two embraced, and Maclin went to leave, but instead returned, attacking Santana.

Tessa Blanchard in Action

Next up, Tessa Blanchard took on Rachel Ley. Ley attempted to get some offense in but missed with a Moonsault from the top, and ultimately succumbed to Blanchard’s Buzzsaw finisher.

Ryan Nemeth was with Mara Sadè, and they recreated the Mr. Perfect throwing-to-himself bit from years ago. This continued with darts and a game of Horse. Nemeth continued to lose, culminating with Mara superkicking Nemeth on the basketball court.

EY approached BDE and wanted him to take him up on the opportunity of a lifetime. BDE declined, but EY said he would get the right answer in the ring next week.

The Elegance Brand was out next in Breaking Bad-inspired gear (they were in Albuquerque – get it?) for their match against Indi Hartwell, Lei Ying Lee, and Xia Brookside.

The Elegance Brand vs. Indi Hartwell & The Angel Warriors

Things broke down early in this one with all six women brawling in the ring before the face team gained the advantage. After an ad break, Mr. Elegance got involved behind the referee’s back, throwing his soft coat into Lee’s face. Things built to a hot tag to Indi Hartwell and eventually Xia Brookside, hitting a dive onto all three opponents on the outside. The Personal Concierge then accidentally threw glitter into Mr. Elegance’s face, and back in the ring, Brookside picked up the pinfall. The Elegance Brand beat down Xia Brookside to end the segment.
