Cody “Raheem” Rhodes
The first episode of WWE SmackDown after the Royal Rumble kicked off with WWE Champion Drew McIntyre heading down to the ring but being attacked from behind by Cody Rhodes. Officials quickly separated the two, and Cody cut a screaming promo complaining about not being able to point at the WrestleMania sign. Rhodes said he heard it was a “you know what” measuring contest, and he didn’t have the nickname “Raheem” for no reason. Cody said that Drew McIntyre wouldn’t make it to WrestleMania.

Nick Aldis informed Cody backstage a little later that he was in an Elimination Chamber qualifying match next week, but he would reconsider if he couldn’t control his emotions.

Giulia and Kiana James were interviewed, with James calling their tag title match a mere stepping stone for Giulia on her way to becoming Women’s Champion, after she wins the Elimination Chamber.
WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship
The first match of the night saw Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky defending their Women’s Tag Team Championships against Giulia and Kiana James. Early on, Iyo Sky and Giuila squared off as Kiana James cheated behind the referee’s back.

James and Giulia almost picked up the win with the Arrivederci, but Rhea Ripley broke up the pin. Iyo Sky hit a crazy-looking dive onto Giulia on the outside, landing on her face, but appeared to be okay. Finally, Ripley hit the Riptide on Giuli, and Sky followed that up immediately with the Over the Moonsault for the win.

Backstage, The Miz and Ilja Dragunov argued about who would get the next United States title shot when Carmelo Hayes interrupted. Hayes said Dragunov gets the next title shot, and Miz gets his ass kicked.
Carmelo Hayes vs. The Miz
Next up was the non-title match between Carmelo Hayes and The Miz, set up in the previous segment. Unfortunately, it seemed as though the US title rematch between Hayes and Dragunov would occur another time. These two actually had a pretty darn good match with action swinging back and forth. The finish saw Miz go for the Skull-Crushing Finale, but having Hayes roll through it and counter with the First 48 for the win.

Tiffany Stratton was interviewed and said she would win the Elimination Chamber qualifying match when Chelsea Green interrupted with some custom newspapers, saying that she was going to avenge her Royal Rumble elimination. Stratton said she would put Green in the Obituaries.

The Wyatts cut another pre-tape promo, addressing Solo Sikoa, saying fear shows up when you’re all alone.
Women’s Elimination Chamber Qualifying Triple Threat Match
Next was the first of two triple threat Elimination Chamber qualifying matches, with this one pitting Lash Legend against the aforementioned Tiffany Stratton and Chelsea Green. Stratton was the only one without a second in her corner with Nia Jax and Alba Fyre on the outside. Green appeared to be getting the biggest reaction from the crowd as she hit a dive off the top rope to the outside on her opponents, only to be hit with a Pump Kick from Lash Legend.

After the break, Chelsea continued to be chanted for by the crowd over Stratton, just as Stratton executed two clunky suplexes in a row. Green then hit a coast-to-coast drop kick on both opponents, only to be pulled out of the ring by Nia Jax. Stratton reversed an Unprettier attempt and countered with the PME for the win.
Randy Orton was interviewed backstage and noted that this would be his tenth Elimination Chamber match if he qualifies. Aleister Black and Zelina Vega interrupted and said that they were blessed to still have “at least one part of him” still around. Unsure what this was in reference to.
Kit Wilson and Oba Femi
Kit Wilson cut an in-ring promo claiming he was at the Royal Rumble last week and everything about it was toxic. Wilson began gyrating his hips, calling the crowd “toxic,” and challenged anyone from the Rumble to face him. This brought out Oba Femi to a pretty big pop. The bell rang, and Wilson said he was a feminist, and Femi nailed him with a chop. Femi hit a few offensive moves and finished Wilson off with the Fall from Grace in under a minute.
Can't be toxic if you're an Obafeminist! 😮💨@Obaofwwe pic.twitter.com/GQDcTmgp9R

Backstage, R-Truth and Damien Priest were watching Oba Femi win, and Drew McIntyre walked by, bumping into Truth. Priest said that he and Drew had “done this enough” and he has enough trouble.
McIntyre went to the ring again, looking over his shoulder to see if Cody was going to attack him. This time, Jacob Fatu attacked McIntyre and brawled with security as well before Drew was able to escape. Shortly after, Nick Aldis told Jacob Fatu the same thing he told Cody earlier – that he had to earn his shot in an Elimination Chamber qualifier next week, and he had to leave now.

Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Tama Tonga
Next was finally the big blow off to the long-standing feud between Shinsuke Nakamura and Tama Tonga. The story here was that Tonga was accusing Nakamura of being checked out, which, to be fair, is pretty accurate. Both men went back and forth until Tonga Loa grabbed Nakamura’s foot behind the referee’s back, allowing Tama to hit the Cutthroat twice and pick up the win.
The Motor City Machine Guns appeared for the first time in forever, chatting with Fraxiom when Candice LeRae interrupted with Johnny Gargano laying face-first on an NXT crate, seemingly hopeful that he gets shipped back to NXT with the crate. MCMG ran down all of the bad stuff Gargano has done and refused to help.
Rhea Ripley & Iyo Sky were interviewed, and they said their priorities were the tag titles, but they will also attempt to qualify for the Elimination Chamber. Nia Jax and Lash Legend interrupted and indicated they were going to ask Aldis for a title match. Raquel Rodriguez and Liv Morgan walked by, eyeing the tag titles on their way to the ring.
