Fred Ottman, a.k.a. Typhoon and The Shockmaster, revealed Sunday that he has been in the hospital for the last 30 days.
The WWE legend posted a video on Instagram to give fans an update regarding his whereabouts. The 69-year-old revealed that his “gallbladder exploded,” releasing poison into his body and causing him to be bedridden in a St. Petersburg, Fla., hospital for 30 days. Ottman said doctors told his wife that if he had waited one more day to treat the infection, “I probably wouldn’t be here with you and be able to talk to you guys.” He also noted that his condition got to a point where he would have been put on dialysis because the infection affected his kidneys.

“I’m here. I’ve lost a lot of muscle mass,” Ottman said in an Instagram reel. “I’ve lost a lot of different things. It’s been a brutal fight. I’ve been learning how to walk again.”
Ottman added that he expects to be discharged from the hospital on Monday and continue his rehab at home. The WWE Hall of Famer said he will need to return to the hospital to undergo another procedure. Ottman admitted he’s taking this one step at a time as he hopes to get back to full health. His coaches say he has been making good progress. He concluded the video by thanking his wife, family, friends, and fans for their support during this time in his life.
