The next contenders for DarkState’s tag team championships will be determined on the February 17 episode of NXT.
A four-way #1 contenders tag match has been scheduled for next week’s episode of NXT, with the winners meeting Osiris Griffin and Saquon Shugars for their tag titles at the promotion’s upcoming show in Atlanta.
The bout was originally scheduled to just be a three-way with former champs Hank & Tank facing OTM and The Culling. However, after Ricky Smokes and Brad Baylor of The Vanity Project scored a win against Hank & Tank on this week’s NXT, they were able to sneak into the booking as well.
Five matchups in total have been scheduled for next week’s show. Lower on the card, Shiloh Hill will try to gain his first-ever title when he battles with North American Champion Ethan Page. If successful, he will end the longest reign in the belt’s history, as Page has carried the title for more than 260 days.
NXT newcomers Elio LeFleur and Eli Knight will meet in a three-minute WWE Speed match, with the winner battling reigning champ Jasper Troy in two weeks. In a grudge match, Kelani Jordan will face Lola Vice. And in his first in-ring appearance since announcing his plan to take out DarkState, Tony D’Angelo will face Cutler James.
Here’s the full lineup for next week’s show:
- Tony D’Angelo vs. Cutler James
- Kelani Jordan vs. Lola Vice
- Elio LeFleur vs. Eli Knight (WWE Speed #1 Contenders)
- Ethan Page vs. Shiloh Hill (NXT North American Championship)
- Hank Walker & Tank Ledger vs. Brad Baylor & Ricky Smokes vs. Shawn Spears & Niko Vance vs. Bronco Nima & Lucien Price (NXT Tag Team Championships #1 Contenders Match)
