WWE closed its broadcast of Monday Night Raw with a tribute to the passing of Jim Shank, who died this past Friday.

Shank was sixty years old and died after battling colorectal cancer for several years.

Shank had been with the company since November 1999 and served as its Technical Operations Manager.

From Paul Levesque:

On Friday, the @WWE family lost a beloved member of its production crew. Jim Shank was a fixture backstage and an incredible teammate, who helped create the magic of the live experience at WWE. My thoughts and those of our entire crew and talent roster are with his family at this time. It’s never goodbye…but see ya down the road.

Adam Pearce:

Godspeed, Jim Shank. WWE has many unsung heroes: Incredible men and women that perhaps aren’t seen on screen, yet truly make everything we do shine. Jim is unquestionably one of those, and has been a respected member of our family for years. I thank you, Jimmy… for your talents, your time, and most importantly, your friendship. Connections through Houston won’t ever be the same.

Nattie Neidhart:

My thoughts are with Jim Shank’s family during this time. Jim was one of those rare people whose kindness spoke louder than words, an unsung hero backstage in WWE. Jim was always thinking of others, always showing up for everyone else. His memory will stay in our hearts.

A GoFundMe was launched to assist Shank with his medical treatments and raised over $200,000 with significant donations by Vince McMahon, Kevin Steen, Randy Orton, Alexa Bliss, Cody Rhodes, Chris Jericho, and Bruce Prichard, among others.

Our condolences are extended to the family and friends of Jim Shank.
