While most of AEW’s stars are heading to Sydney for Grand Slam: Australia this weekend, two will instead be making the trip to Mexico City.
Death Riders member Daniel Garcia and the Don Callis Family’s El Clon have been booked to appear on a pair of CMLL lucha events this weekend, the promotion announced.
While not billed for Friday night’s Arena Mexico card, usually the company’s biggest event of the week, they’re set to appear on Saturday and Sunday night’s shows.
The headlining bout on Saturday’s Arena Coliseo show sees Volador Jr. team with Clon to face Angel de Oro and Garcia. The next night, back at Arena Mexico, Clon and Garcia will compete in a four-way bout also involving Neon and Esfinge.

Garcia will be making his second trip to CMLL with the two dates. The AEW vet made his debut for the promotion last October as part of a weekend tour alongside Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta.
While Clon is incredibly experienced on the Mexican scene, wrestling under the alias Arez before debuting in AEW last year with a new pseudonym, this weekend will mark his first appearances in the prominent brand CMLL.
CMLL also announced on Wednesday night that AEW talents Mercedes Moné, Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford will appear as part of their March 6 all-women’s lineup in Arena Mexico.
