STARDOM’s top talent will step aside for a month after suffering an injury in her first title match back.
World of STARDOM Champion Saya Kamitani suffered what looked like a finger injury last weekend during her title matchup against Starlight Kid in Osaka, Japan. While she powered through the physical setback, going roughly another 15 minutes to end the bout, it now seems the injury will take her out of action for some time.
STARDOM announced Thursday that Kamitani will undergo surgery due to an injury and will miss a month of action. A specific return date hasn’t been listed yet.

Thank you for your continued support.
Kamitani is coming off a huge past 12 months, becoming STARDOM’s top name by carrying their world title through 2025. After winning Tokyo Sport’s MVP award, Kamitani faced off against Syuri at Wrestle Kingdom 20 inside the Tokyo Dome last month.
Kamitani took a few weeks off from wrestling following her Tokyo Dome appearance, with last weekend’s bout being her first singles matchup since coming back. However, it now unfortunately seems like she is taking another break, this time one that she didn’t plan for.
