Jon Moxley made his first defense of the AEW Continental Championship at Grand Slam Australia.

A rematch from the Continental Classic involving Moxley and Konosuke Takeshita opened the show from Sydney, Australia, as the tournament winner tried to avenge his round-robin loss to Takeshita.

The match resulted in a twenty-minute draw and a post-match brawl, indicating a rematch is coming.

There were multiple time cues announced, culminating with the final minute where both kicked out of big moves at one. The time expired, and the fans were disappointed.

The two continued to fight and ended with Takeshita hitting Raging Fire on the champion.

Moxley became Continental Champion at Worlds End by defeating Kazuchika Okada in the final and “un-unifying” the Continental and International titles.
