Brett Wolverton, who worked in the Carolinas as a ring announcer, has died at the age of forty-four.
Wolverton’s primary job was with FOX Carolina News as its chief video editor. He worked at the network for the past twenty years and was nominated for several Southeast Emmy Awards.
Wolverton started as a videographer in 2003, working on a Legends of Wrestling show. He started ring announcing in 2005 on an Ultimate Championship Wrestling card in Bay City, Michigan, and one year later in the Carolinas, where he had been a fixture for nearly two decades.
He was a twelve-time ‘Ring Announcer of the Year’ winner for the Carolinas’ Professional Wrestling Awards.
Wolverton’s work included his home promotion of Old School Championship Wrestling, PWX, NWA Anarchy, and WrestleCade, among others.
We extend our condolences to the family and friends of Brett Wolverton.
