Místico retained the CMLL World Light Heavyweight title on the final night of NJPW and CMLL’s Fantasticamania tour.
The seven-show tour wrapped on Friday in front of 1,499 fans at Korakuen Hall, featuring the championship match between Místico and Soberano Jr.
The nearly twenty-six-minute contest featured a counter of La Mistica by the challenger to execute a Tombstone, but Místico survived and secured the win with La Mistica.
Templario was victorious against Último Guerrero, using El Templo in thirteen minutes, which was the second longest of the show.
Shoma Kato had his send-off match, losing to Averno in the opening match before he leaves for Mexico. Kato, 23, joined New Japan three years ago as one of its Young Lions and went a year before earning his first win. He recently went to the finals of the Young Lion Cup, losing to Katsuya Murashima, who left on his own excursion earlier this month.
NJPW returns next Wednesday for the first of two straight nights at Korakuen Hall and the start of the New Japan Cup. It will hold its 54th anniversary show next Friday at Ota City Gymnasium in Tokyo.
