Alex Windsor has captured singles gold.
The AEW star prevailed in a hard-hitting back-and-forth battle this weekend against Syuri, earning her the NJPW STRONG Women’s Championship after 16 minutes of action. The bout came as part of Pro Wrestling EVE’s big Wrestle Queendon VIII card on Sunday from the Indigo at the O2 in London, England.
Windsor found the finish after blocking a roundhouse kick from Syuri and reversing into a pair of hard lariats. She followed up with a Made In Japan, earning her the pinfall victory.
A large part of the match saw the momentum swing back and forth quickly as the women traded moves, slaps, kicks, and thudding forearms. An especially physical spot early on saw Windsor come off the ring apron with a blockbuster, ending with a landing on the venue’s hardwood floor.
The bout saw Windsor avenge a loss she suffered on a 2025 EVE card, where Syuri retained her IWGP Women’s Championship against her in a contest that went over 20 minutes.
Syuri earned the NJPW title inside the Tokyo Dome earlier this year, taking down Saya Kamitani as part of a title-versus-title matchup at Wrestle Kingdom 20. The Joshi talent still holds the IWGP Women’s title, which she has carried since October.
Windsor currently wrestles in AEW, where she is one-half of the Brawling Birds tag duo alongside Jamie Hayter. She also currently holds the RevPro Undisputed British Women’s Championship.
