Claudio Castagnoli is returning to Arena Mexico this weekend.
AEW’s Castagnoli will defend his CMLL World Heavyweight Championship against Ultimo Guerrero as part of this Friday’s card in Mexico City.
The Swiss talent confirmed the matchup on social media, accepting a challenge Guerrero issued on Saturday night.

“Ultimo Guerrero, I’m so glad you asked,” he said. “Of course, I accept your challenge. I’ll see you next Friday.”
Castagnoli has held CMLL’s heavyweight title since November, when he put an end to Gran Guerrero’s run with the belt. He has made three trips to Mexico since then, most recently appearing in late February, winning a three-way against Akuma and Euforia.
Among past title victories for Castagnoli was a December meeting against Ultimo Guerrero, defeating him in 12 minutes. The Deathriders member will try to repeat that success in just a few days when he returns to Mexico.
