A popular Japanese venue for combat sports will shut its doors later this year.
Shinjuku FACE has announced that the venue is closing at the end of September after twenty-one years of operation:
We sincerely thank you for always using and visiting Shinjuku FACE. As of the end of September 2026, Shinjuku FACE will be closing its doors after 21 years of operation. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the customers who have visited, the performers, the related parties, and everyone involved.
The venue was previously known as ‘The Liquid Room’ as a concert theatre but underwent renovations in 2005, allowing it to host sports events, such as boxing, MMA & professional wrestling.
The 600-seat venue has been used by NOAH, Stardom, GLEAT, DDT, Marigold, TJPW, and WAVE, among many companies.
In August 2024, Game Changer Wrestling ran two shows at the building with ‘The Sky Is the Limit’ and ‘You Only Die Once’.
Female MMA organization Jewels regularly staged cards at the arena from 2008 until 2023.
Marigold, Zero1, DDT, and TJPW have shows at Shinjuku FACE over the next month.
