Ospreay vs. Christian

AEW Dynamite from Fresno kicked off with Will Ospreay’s return to in-ring action, taking on Blake Christian. As the match began, it was announced that Toni Storm had been attacked backstage earlier in the day and ruled out of action, and Mina Shirakawa would take her place in the No Holds Barred match with Marina Shafir later in the night. Ospreay seemed not to have missed a beat as the match was underway until Blake Christian began to focus his offense on Ospreay’s neck, slowing him down.

Ospreay made relatively short work of Christian, hitting two Hidden Blades to pick up the win. It was noted that it had been 182 days since surgery, and he was already back wrestling. Ospreay cut a post-match promo, telling Jon Moxley that he didn’t need a weapon to break someone’s neck; he could do it with his bare fucking hands. Mox and Wheeler Youya then appeared in the crowd, and Ospreay charged at them. A brawl ensued, and Ospreay set up for the Tiger Driver, but Pac appeared and put him in the Brutalizer until officials separated them.

Bang Bang Gang vs. Death Riders

The Bang Bang Game came out for the next match when Ospreay jumped Pac and the two fought into the backstage area. Bang Bang Gang resumed their entrance and were jumped by the Death Riders as their match began. This match featured Juice Robinson and Ace Austin vs. Jon Moxley and Wheeler Yuta. After a commercial break, Daniel Garcia appeared, jumping on the apron and attempting but failing to distract Juice Robinson before being taken out by Austin Gunn. The finish saw Moxley hit the Death Rider on Ace Austin after Yuta hit a Busaiku Knee on Robinson. It was interesting to note that Moxley seemed fully back to heel mode during this segment.

A video package from Gabe Kidd aired ahead of his “Unsanctioned” Coffin Match later tonight. This led directly into a backstage promo from Kidd, challenging Allin to meet him in the parking lot.

A Kenny Omega video aired, filmed after Revolution on Sunday night, with Omega challenging Swere Stickland for the #1 Contender’s slot for the AEW Championship.

Coffin Match

Cameras cut to a parking lot with Darby Allin and Gabe Kidd starting their coffin match. Darby chloroformed Kidd, throwing him into the trunk of a car and then flipping the car over by driving up a makeshift ramp. Darby popped out of the car by busting through the glass, and then Kidd fell out of the trunk. Allin collected Kidd with a crate and wheeled him all the way to the ring.

The bell rang as Kidd was almost next to the coffin set up at ringside. Darby produced a straitjacket and put a half-conscious Kidd in it. Finally, Kidd recovered and stopped a skateboard shot to his head, tossing Darby into the ring steps. Kidd then slammed Darby’s hands in the lid of the coffin as the show went to break. At this point, Allin was busted open as Kidd slammed Darby on the wheels of his skateboard. As the show returned, Allin hit an Avalanche Code Red and a Scorpion Death Drop on Kidd.

Darby then stopped Kidd from slamming the lid shut on the coffin by biting Kidd’s nose. Allin followed up with more skateboard shots to Kidd’s back and two Coffin Drops. Allin then hit a crazy running dive on Kidd, knocking him into the Coffin as the lid closed on its own.

Darby grabbed a mic, saying, “I’m going to hold that throttle until I see God or the AEW Championship. Maxwell Jacob Friedman, I’m coming.”

A pre-tape package featuring the old Jurassic Express theme aired with Jack Perry packing and Luchasaurus waiting for him in their bus. Perry fed a squirrel a nut before getting into the bus. The pair stopped for gas, and then it showed them arriving live at the arena. Perry said it was a good night for him and his family. The Young Bucks appeared and said it was not a good night for their family, but they were starting from scratch tonight as they faced RPG Vice and Okada. Luchasaurus ended the segment by yelling “bitch”.

Swerve the EVPest

Next, Prince Nana announced “The Most Dangerous Man in AEW,” Swerve Strickland. Swerve addressed Kenny Omega’s challenge from earlier, noting he didn’t know he was the #1 Contender until Omega mentioned it. Strickland said he would accept Omega’s rematch challenge if he offered up his EVP status.

Renee Paquette interviewed Speedball Mike Bailey, who said he had to wrestle all over the world for 20 years to get people to believe in him. Bailey compared himself to Kenny Omega, noting that he hopes to be a World Champion one day, just like Omega.

Dunkzilla vs. Speedball

Next up was Mike Bailey taking on Mark Davis. Both men exchanged offense back and forth, with Speedball gaining the advantage after a Triangle Moonsault to the outside as the show went to an ad break. During the break, Davis hit Bailey with a stalling, brainbuster-style slam on the ring apron with Bailey landing on his mid-back. From there, Bailey fought from underneath, trying to take the big man down. Davis nearly put Bailey down with a giant suplex, but Bailey was able to pick up the win with the Ultimo Weapon.

A post-match promo from MJF from Sunday night aired, with him touting that Hangman will be in the midcard from now on as he becomes regarded as the greatest of all time. MJF screamed that he was going to Disney World as the segment ended.

Okada and RPG Vice cut a backstage promo where Okada chided Takeshita for shaking hands with Jon Moxley this past Sunday night. They said they would make Don Callis proud with a win later tonight.

No Holds Barred

Footage was shown from earlier in the day with Toni Storm laid out in the back with blood on her head. This cut to a promo from Marina Shafir, who wouldn’t confirm she was the one to attack Toni, but it didn’t matter, as she would take down Mina now instead.

Mina Shirakawa came down to the ring with a barbed wire bat, forcing the commentary to explain that “modern versions of No Holds Barred matches allow weapons. Shirakawa also produced a bucket of Champagne, which Shafir swigged during the commercial break. After the break, Shafir attempted to hit Mina with the bottle but missed, sending Champagne all over the ring and one of the cameras.

Marina applied the Mother’s Milk, but Mina escaped by gouging Marina’s eyes. Marina set up a table at ringside and hit Mina with a backdrop suplex, with Mina missing the table and hitting the floor. Mina then hit Marina in the face with a bottle, following that up with a Spinning Backfist and the Storm Zero for the win.

Andrade was interviewed backstage and said that he wanted the AEW World Championship when he was interrupted by Jon Cruz. Cruz held up his phone with Don Callis on FaceTime, and Callis instructed Andrade to accept money from MJF. Andrade reluctantly accepted.
