WWE officials are reportedly optimistic that doctors will medically clear Bron Breakker before WrestleMania 42.

According to WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, hope exists within the company that Breakker can return soon. The promotion has reportedly prepared a backup plan if doctors do not clear him, though specific details remain unknown. Management also has a creative direction ready for his potential appearance at the event.

Breakker is understood to have undergone surgery for a sports hernia in early February. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter corroborated the nature of the injury and the need for the procedure.

The injury apparently occurred when Breakker flipped a commentary table during the February 2 episode of WWE Raw. Michael Cole subsequently announced on February 9 that Breakker was out indefinitely.

This medical absence halted a major storyline coming out of the Royal Rumble. A masked attacker ambushed Breakker during the match, which led to his quick elimination by Oba Femi. Breakker previously ousted Seth Rollins from The Vision faction in October.

Rollins returned at Elimination Chamber to attack Logan Paul, who is Breakker’s stablemate. The returning star has continued to use masked men to target Paul, Austin Theory, and Paul Heyman on television. A match between Rollins and Breakker appears to be a likely creative direction if the latter receives medical clearance.
