AEW has reportedly re-upped its current women’s world champion.

Thekla reached a new deal with AEW recently, Fightful Select wrote on Wednesday night. The latest agreement is a “multi-year” deal, although further details regarding the new contract aren’t known at the moment.

Fightful Select wrote that she initially inked a two-year deal with AEW, although her performance with the company has been so strong that they started negotiating a longer, new deal “not even a full year” in.

Thekla made her AEW debut back in May 2025, making the jump to the American brand after a stint in the prominent Joshi brand STARDOM.

Thekla has held the AEW Women’s World Championship since February, when she dethroned Kris Statlander in a strap match. She most recently defended the title on last night’s episode of Dynamite, overcoming Mina Shirakawa.
