First nine participants revealed for NJPW’s Best of the Super Juniors tournament

New Japan Pro Wrestling has revealed the first nine participants in this year’s Best of the Super Juniors tournament.

The annual tour kicks off on May 14 and features 20 participants, with NJPW releasing three names daily this week.

Announced for the Best of the Super Juniors:

  • DOUKI (IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Champion)
  • El Desperado
  • Master Wato
  • YOH
  • Valiente Jr.
  • SHO
  • Yoshinobu Kanemaru
  • Daisuke Sasaki
  • Kosei Fujita

Previous winners of the BOSJ include Master Wato (2023), El Desperado (2024), and Kosei Fujita (2025). Fujita beat YOH in the final of last year’s tournament.

Sasaki will be representing DDT and will make his third appearance in the tournament, while Valiente Jr. will wrestle in his first BOSJ as a representative of CMLL.
