Ricky Smokes and Brad Baylor of The Vanity Project have defeated Bravo and Rayo of Los Americanos to retain the NXT Tag Team Championships.

The match was the second contest on the NXT Stand & Deliver main card.

The action opened with Bravo facing Smokes. Early in the match, Los Americanos isolated Baylor and delivered double-team maneuvers. Rayo executed a seated senton, and Bravo landed mounted punches on Baylor.

The Vanity Project later utilized quick tags to regain control. They executed a dropkick-assisted spinebuster on Rayo. Bravo subsequently re-entered the match, delivering a crossbody and a pop-up drop to Smokes.

During the contest, El Grande Americano Nuevo handed Bravo a metal plate, which Bravo loaded into his mask. Smokes intercepted this tactic, stole the metal plate, and placed it inside his trunks. Rayo later executed a hurricanrana on Smokes off the middle rope, followed by a splash from Bravo.

Smokes subsequently passed the metal plate to Jackson Drake at ringside. El Grande Americano Nuevo attacked Drake with a headbutt, but Smokes followed up with a dive to take Grande out. Drake then used the loaded metal plate to punch Bravo.

Inside the ring, Smokes and Baylor executed a reverse DDT-double stomp combination off the middle rope on Bravo. Smokes secured the pinfall to win the match.

The match marks the Vanity Project’s first successful defense of their championships since winning the gold last month.
