Game Changer Wrestling held its final set of shows before The Collective with many angles shot on Saturday’s ‘Maniac’ event in Los Angeles.

Its return to the Ukrainian Culture Club saw its final push for Spring Break X with a series of reveals, a contract signing, and angles throughout the night.

RESULTS

  • Grab the Brass Ring – Qualifying Match: 1 Called Manders over Starboy Charlie in 11:09 (Recommended)
  • Megan Bayne vs. Steph De Lander ends in a no-contest at 15:00
  • GCW World Championship: Atticus Cogar © over Daisuke Sasaki in 8:04
  • Six-Way Scramble: Gringo Loco over Resplandor, Rey Horus, Marcus Mathers, Jack Cartwheel & Vengador in 16:33 (Recommended)
  • SLADE over Kidd Bandit in 15:50
  • Dominic Garrini & Kevin Ku over Super Crazy & Chris Masters in 4:33
  • Bear Bronson & Matt Tremont vs. Krule & Otis Cogar ends in a no-contest in 16:00

The major surprise was an appearance by AEW National champion Jack Perry, coming to the aid of former partner Marko Stunt. Stunt was recently attacked by KJ Orso and Sam Stackhouse in Atlantic City and issued a challenge to both men on Saturday. The two gained the advantage, and Stackhouse teased a Rikishi Driver when Baltimora began, and the crowd went wild, leading to the announcement of a tag bout at Spring Break.

A contract signing between Joey Janela and Brodie Lee Jr. received the most attention as the final angle before their match. The 14-year-old was joined by his mother, Amanda Huber, who had to legally sign for her son. The segment included Janela bringing up the late Brodie Lee (Jon Huber), stating that Amanda already buried her husband and doesn’t want to bury a son too, as he warned her not to sign. Brodie Lee Jr. attacked Janela, tipped a table onto his opponent, and signed the contract.

After a no-contest between Megan Bayne and the returning Steph De Lander (who had not wrestled in GCW since May 2024) where Mance Warner attacked Bayne, a tag match was added to Spring Break. Warner and De Lander will face Bayne and a mystery partner.

The show incorporated modern television elements, including a show-long series of vignettes of an unhinged Effy attempting to enter the building after being barred. Effy has become unstable in the lead-up to his ‘Loser Leaves GCW’ match with Allie Katch next weekend. One segment saw Effy track down Allie at a store and was physically removed by Allie. Inside the store, ‘The Queen of Melrose’ Cosmo made a cameo and was announced as the special host for Effy’s Big Gay Brunch.

Another “on location” video featured The Sandman with his buddies going on a search for The Invisible Man at a local shopping center. The Sandman took a pill and had a hallucination, dancing to Nelly Furtado’s “I’m Like a Bird”, which can’t adequately be described with words. They thought they ran over The Invisible Man with their car, but they missed him.

There was also a show-ending brawl that wove together several feuds as SLADE attacked Krule before their MDK Fight Club match, and Matt Tremont ended the show by cutting a promo on Otis Cogar before their Hardcore Kingdom steel cage match at the Immortal Clusterf**k.

The Six-Man Scramble was something to see and one of the better versions you are going to see. My immediate reaction was that Resplandor is going to be in heavy demand if enough people watch this. Jack Cartwheel is the most unique performer in North America right now and is on the cusp of breaking through with the AAA exposure, and he was in his element here.

Overall, this was a really effective “go home” show with nearly every match and segment promoting The Collective in front of a packed audience at the UCC and probably GCW’s best show in a long time and one of the better produced Indie shows due to the video packages, vignettes, and promotional elements.
