Two independent bookings that would’ve seen TNA wrestlers face off against AEW talents have been changed.

Just hours after a report surfaced that Moose was pulled from Maple Leaf Pro’s upcoming Multiverse card in order to prevent him from battling with an AEW talent, it was announced that two other TNA vs. AEW bookings have been changed.

A matchup between Ricochet and X-Division Champion Leon Slater, which was scheduled for the Mark Hitchcock Memorial Supershow as part of Wrestlemania weekend in Las Vegas, is off. WrestleCon announced on Wednesday night that the bout was pulled.

“Despite being previously cleared by all parties and respective management, Leon Slater has been pulled from this match one week prior to our Memorial event,” they said. “We will have more to say at a later time, but we wanted to be immediately transparent to all fans.”

It’s unclear whether Slater is still on the card with a new opponent or off the show entirely.

Also on Wednesday evening, Create A Pro Wrestling confirmed that a May 1st matchup between MJF and Nic Nemeth won’t happen “due to unforeseen circumstances.” Create A Pro’s Brian Myers said in a video statement that they will both remain on the card, but in different segments.

Earlier in the evening, amid rumblings that such a change was on the way, MJF took a jab at Nemeth and TNA on social media.

“Nic Nemeth and TNA are afraid of the AEW World Champion,” he wrote. “Shame old, Carlos [Silva] doesn’t care about the fans or his roster getting paid.”

Fightful Select reported earlier today that Nemeth had been pushing to keep his match with MJF intact.

Matches between AEW and TNA talents have happened frequently on the independents in recent years. Just as recently as last week, AEW’s Mercedes Moné faced off against TNA’s Jody Threat at a Winnipeg Pro Wrestling card. However, the series of cancellations for already-booked and announced matches seemingly shows a change in attitude towards such opportunities.

TNA has told numerous outlets that they had pulled talent due to “partner conflicts.”
