Independent wrestler Krule / Mads Krügger has been pulled from a Wrestlemania weekend booking.
Former MLW World Heavyweight Champion Krule, who was originally booked to face Slade in a No Rope Barbed Wire Match as part of GCW’s MDK Fight Club card on Thursday, is no longer listed on the show’s latest lineup. Instead, Dr. Redacted is promoted as Slade’s new opponent.
The move comes shortly after a controversial moment at an Illinois independent event last month involving Krule.
It was alleged that an attendee of a Ruthless Pro Wrestling show in late March attempted to stab Krule, causing numerous people to attack the fan in retaliation. Footage surfaced online after the event showing the fan shelling up as he suffers damage from many nearby. There were no visible signs of a weapon in various clips that have surfaced.
However, many details regarding the incident, including whether the fan even tried to stab Krule, have been disputed. Rickey Shane Page, part-owner of RPW, said earlier this week that Krule “might have had a cut he forgot about” from the deathmatch he worked earlier in the night, and that he wasn’t sure whether a stabbing actually occurred.
POST Wrestling is still awaiting a response from the Berwyn Police Department for a records request filed in relation to the incident.
The incident caused prolific indie venue Berwyn Eagles Club to announce that it will stop hosting independent wrestling events. This forced many promotions, including GCW, to change their plans for the coming months.
