The reasoning for Swerve Strickland’s absence from AEW programming might have been revealed recently.
According to Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp, Strickland has been away from AEW to film promotional materials for Warner Bros. Discovery. Fightful Select did not know the specifics of what Strickland was filming.
Strickland was last seen on AEW television in a loss to Kenny Omega, who earned a No. 1 contendership for the AEW World Title at Dynasty, where he lost. Strickland was in Vancouver for a fan signing event. However, he has not been seen on-screen since his loss to Omega.
Three title matches were announced for Dynamite at Angel of the Winds Arena in Everett, Wash., but a future Strickland appearance has not been announced yet.
