Seth Rollins made a surprise appearance on Friday at AAW’s final event at the Berwyn Eagles Club in Illinois.

Rollins showed up at AAW’s ‘Crush & Destroy’, which the promotion states will be its last show, as the venue has said it will no longer host wrestling after this weekend.

Rollins wrestled many times at the venue during his time on the independent scene as Tyler Black with AAW. Rollins mentioned having several of his students on Friday’s show and came to the ring to thank the audience, and that his dream wasn’t just to wrestle at WrestleMania but also in rings like this. He thanked AAW’s Danny Daniels and reflected on being a fan himself.

Rollins last wrestled at the Berwyn Eagles Club in 2010, teaming with Jimmy Jacobs against Josh Raymond & Christin Able for AAW.

There are questions surrounding why the Berwyn Eagles Club is no longer hosting wrestling. It was confirmed by the Chicago Sun-Times on Friday that the venue has not lost its entertainment license to host wrestling events, despite that being a reason listed when a GoFundMe was launched to help the club.
