National Championship

AEW Collision “Fairway to Hell” kicked off with Jungle Jack Perry defending his National Championship against Mark Davis in a rematch from Dynasty Zero Hour. This unique venue featured a smattering of fans standing around the ring, with seats farther away, almost like a small baseball stadium. Davis went to war on Perry with his hard-hitting offense as Perry attempted to counter with his typical high-flying arsenal.

The show went to commercial break, and during it, Davis clothestlined Perry into the fans standing at ringside. Upon return, Perry was fighting from underneath, reversing a Davis attempt at a Superplex into a Sunset Flip Powerbomb. Perry then executed a Hurricanrana from the apron to the floor. The champion followed that up with a big elbow drop to the back of Mark Davis. Perry’s comeback attempts continued, but Davis kept fighting back with his massive clotheslines. Don Callis then jumped onto the ring apron, allowing Ricochet to run in with a golf club and nail Jack Perry in the back. Davis hit his Piledriver, and Davis made the cover to become the new AEW National Champion.

Renee Paquette announced that Will Ospreay has been cleared to compete and will face Ace Austin this Wednesday on Dynamite.

Backstage, Jack Perry cut a promo saying that winning the National title in his hometown was one of the best moments of his career. Perry then announced that he and The Elite (Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks) would be joining Jericho at Double or Nothing to take on The Demand and their two partners. Apparently, The Hurt Syndicate have other plans?

They cut to Renee backstage with Don Callis, Mark Davis, and Ricochet, and they welcomed the opportunity to beat up Omega and the Bucks. Callis said Mark Davis and two other members of the DCF would join him.

Divine Dominion Five Minute Eliminator Challenge

The next match featured AEW Tag Team Champions Megan Bayne and Lena Kross taking on Ruthie Slay and Rachel Ley. An inset promo from the champs explained that this was now a five-minute challenge, where their opponents would simply have to last five minutes to get a title shot against them. The champion hit their double chokeslam in just over two minutes to pick up the win.

Next, it was announced that Thekla would be defending her Women’s Championship in a 4-Way match against Hikaru Shida, Kris Statlander, and Jamie Hayter at Double or Nothing.

Also, this Wednesday on Dynamite, the brackets for both the Men’s and Women’s Owen Hart Tournament will be announced.

Don Callis cut a backstage promo saying that the Don Callis Family would win the AEW World title from whoever came out on top tonight, but then revealed that Okada had to go to Japan for important family business. Callis announced that Konosuke Takeshita would take Okada’s spot in the title match. Takeshita said he would still take the International title from Okada, but he would bring the World title back to the DCF… unlike Okada.

Speedball “In Action”

Next, an unannounced match with Speedball Mike Bailey accompanied by Kevin Knight taking on Kiran Gray. Gray got some offense in as Bailey got hung up on the top rope,  but Speedball picked up the win in under two minutes with the Ultima Weapon off the top rope. After the match, Kevin Knight got on the mic and said they would make it to the top of AEW together.

AEW World Championship

The main event of this breakneck-speed show saw Darby Allin defend his AEW World Championship against Pac. As the bell rang, Darby jumped out of the ring and stormed his way out onto the putting green, as the match was a no-countout match.

The two started pummeling each other near a sand trap. Darby then hit a Code Red onto Pac into the sand trap as Tony Schiavone yelled about a first in the world of pro wrestling.

The two made their way over to another sand trap, and Allin hit a John Woo-style drop kick, flipping Pac over backward into the sand. Pac threw sand into Darby’s eyes and hit a belly-to-belly on Darby into the sand. Pac followed that up with a Gorilla Press slam into the sand.

After a commercial, the two had returned to the ring, and Pac had taken control by tying the ring rope to Darby’s necklace. Darby recovered and hit the Scorpion Death Drop for a near fall. Pac responded with an Avalanche Falcon Arrow for a near fall of his own. Pac then grabbed a table and missed a shooting star off the top rope to the outside, crashing through the table.

Darby threw Pac back into the ring and put Pac in the Scorpion Death Lock, but Pac was able to make it to the ropes to break the hold. Pac then called for the rest of the Death Riders, who ran down to ringside, distracting Darby and allowing Pac to take over. Yuta and Garcia then set up four tables stacked in the entranceway. Meanwhile, Pac hit Darby with a Tombstone on the ring steps and then carried Darby to the backstage area. Pac then dragged Darby to the top level of the arena and into one of the suites, high above the tables below. Marina Shafir distracted the referee, allowing Pac to hit a low blow on Darby and throw him fifteen to twenty feet down through the tables. This was insane.

Pac rolled Darby back into the ring after running all the way back down to the ring, but Darby kicked out. Yuta and Garcia distracted the official on the outside, allowing Marina Shafir to throw the AEW title into Pac. Darby then leaped to his feet and hit a low blow and belt shot on Pac with the referee still distracted. Allin then hit the Coffin Drop for the win. This was awesome.
