Weekend TV Guide: ROH presents Supercard of Honor, BOSJ continues & more!

There’s a fun little selection of events set for this weekend. NJPW’s exciting Best of the Super Juniors tournament is just getting started, ROH is presenting one of its biggest shows of the year, there are title matchups happening around Japan, a return in AAA, and more! Here are nine shows to consider as part of your wrestling diet this weekend.

Friday

ROH Supercard of Honor 2026 / 7 p.m. ET / HonorClub

In 2026, it’s easy to go a long time without watching Ring of Honor. Long gone are the days when ROH title matches were a prominent part of AEW programming. And, with the brand only hosting a few big events per year, it’s a pretty low-key part of Tony Khan’s wrestling portfolio. While you can avoid ROH for most of the year, if you want, tonight’s Supercard of Honor lineup is arguably must-see.

While a rare Nigel McGuinness in-ring appearance should be enough to make some tune in, there’s lots more to hype up. Big match Bandido will appear, as he will put his title on the line against Blake Christian. That’s a huge spot for Christian, so I’m excited to see how he performs. And some of the women’s division’s best will appear in a six-way Survival of the Fittest match. Is this finally the day when forever-champ Athena will see her reign end?

I’m also quite excited to see AR Fox, in his first appearance since winning the ROH World Television Championship, taking on Lio Rush.

  • Nigel McGuinness vs. Josh Woods (Pure Rules)
  • Mark Davis vs. Xelhua (AEW National Championship)
  • Red Velvet vs. Viva Van (ROH Women’s World Television Championship)
  • AR Fox vs. Lio Rush (ROH World Television Championship)
  • Lee Moriarty vs. Ace Austin (ROH Pure Championship)
  • Deonna Purrazzo vs. Diamante (ROH Women’s Pure Championship)
  • Athena vs. Yuka Sakazaki vs. Trish Adora vs. Billie Starkz vs. Maya World vs. Zayda Steel (ROH Women’s World Championship)
  • Bandido vs. Blake Christian (ROH World Championship)

WWE Friday Night SmackDown / 8 p.m. ET / USA Network

We’re just a few weeks away from Gunther attempting to end the reign of Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes at Clash in Italy. After attacking him two weeks back, then formally calling for the title match last week, one must wonder what Gunther has in store for tonight, when Smackdown heads to the Colonial Life Arena in Columbia, South Carolina.

Nothing has been announced for Smackdown, but a lineup of some sort will likely be released today.

Saturday

NJPW Best of the Super Juniors Night 2 / 5 a.m. ET / NJPW World

NJPW’s most prominent junior heavyweight tour of the year, Best of the Super Juniors, is underway. The lengthy 14-night tournament kicked off yesterday with a show from Korakuen Hall, including an electric main event between Kosei Fujita and Francesco Akira.

Round robin action will continue tomorrow, when the event rolls through Hachioji. Saturday’s show will feature the first tournament matchups from CMLL star Valiente Jr. and deathmatch legend Jun Kasai, one of the stand-out names from this year’s lineup.

If the first night of the tournament was a sign of anything, we’re in for an exciting tour this year. Why not wake up early on Saturday with some high-flying junior action?

  • Valiente Jr. vs. Daiki Nagai (A Block)
  • Ryusuke Taguchi vs. Master Wato (A Block)
  • YOH vs. Jakob Austin Young (B Block)
  • Robbie X vs. Francesco Akira (A Block)
  • Daisuke Sasaki vs. KUSHIDA (B Block)
  • Jun Kasai vs. Titan (A Block)
  • Robbie Eagles vs. SHO (B Block)
  • Nick Wayne vs. Kosei Fujita (A Block)
  • Taiji Ishimori vs. El Desperado (B Block)

AEW Collision / 8 p.m. ET / TNT

AEW Collision will be live this weekend from the Wicomico Civic Center in Salisbury, Maryland, the same venue where ROH will host an event 24 hours earlier. Little has been announced for this show thus far, although we know AEW Women’s World Tag Team Champions, the Divine Dominion, will appear in an eliminator match. More will likely be revealed over the next 36 hours.

  • Divine Dominion in action

Sunday

NJPW Best of the Super Juniors Night 3 / 4 a.m. ET / NJPW World

NJPW will visit Yoyogi National Gymnasium on Sunday for the third night of BOSJ. Stand-out matchups on the show include AEW up-and-comer Nick Wayne taking on Francesco Akira, inter-promotional action when DDT’s Daisuke Sasaki faces Dragon Gate’s Hyo, and what should be a stellar main event between El Desperado and Robbie Eagles.

  • Titan vs. Daiki Nagai (A Block)
  • Yoshinobu Kanemaru vs. Jakob Austin Young (B Block)
  • Ryusuke Taguchi vs. Valiente Jr. (A Block)
  • KUSHIDA vs. SHO (B Block)
  • Francesco Akira vs. Nick Wayne (A Block)
  • Daisuke Sasaki vs. Hyo (B Block)
  • Robbie X vs. Master Wato (A Block)
  • Taiji Ishimori vs. YOH (B Block)
  • Jun Kasai vs. Kosei Fujita (A Block)
  • El Desperado vs. Robbie Eagles (B Block)

GCW Ring of Dreams / 6 p.m. ET / TrillerTV+

GCW has a tripleheader of events this weekend, visiting Detroit and Sauget before heading to Des Moines, Iowa on Sunday evening for a show. Sunday’s Ring of Dreams event stuck out the most to me out of their three this weekend, hence why I highlighted it on the schedule. The show sees world champ Atticus Cogar run it back against 1 Called Manders, and has a tag match where Bustah and The Brain will take on the violent duo of Bear Bronson and Matt Tremont. It’s a decent indie show to close the action out this weekend!

  • KJ Orso & Sam Stackhouse vs. Anakin Murphy & Gary Jay
  • Arik Cannon vs. Terry Yaki
  • Vipress vs. Orin Veidt
  • Jordan Oliver & Alec Price vs. Bear Bronson & Matt Tremont (GCW World Tag Team Championships)
  • Atticus Cogar vs. 1 Called Manders (GCW World Championship)

Three more shows to consider for this weekend…

  • Joshi brand MARIGOLD will hit up Korakuen Hall this evening for a show headlined by a world title match, as Miku Aono defends her title against rising English talent Maddy Morgan. Earlier in the night, a must-see singles matchup between the rising Seri Yamaoka and high-level freelancer Sareee will take place. Also, apparently Utami Hayashishita will do an “All Star 1-Minute Singles Match” gauntlet, facing one wrestler after another in quick, 60-second showdowns? I’m curious to see what that’s about! (Wrestle Universe)
  • Galeno, brother of El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr., will make his in-ring return to AAA on Saturday night. Many were long awaiting the arrival of NOAH vet Galeno, who hasn’t appeared on a televised AAA card since their weekly show started earlier this year. But wait no longer! He’s in action tomorrow night. (Youtube)
  • Naomichi Marufuji will headline a NOAH card on Sunday from Nagoya, defending his GHC National Championship for the first time. He’ll try to get past Tadasuke, who will lean on support from his Team 2000X goons to try and sneak by with a win. Tetsuya Naito and BUSHI will also be in action earlier on the card.
