Lince Dorado secured a championship opportunity and Rey Mysterio announced a major title defense during AAA Noche de los Grandes night 2.

The pre-recorded second night of the event clocked in at approximately 43 minutes and featured just two matches.

It resembled a more standard episode of the weekly AAA show than last week’s special, which was headlined by the acclaimed Mask vs. Mask finale of the Grande Americanos feud.

Match results

  • Lince Dorado def. Mini Vikingo, Octagón Jr., Joaquin Wilde, and Cruz Del Toro
  • Lola Vice, Bayley & La Catalina def. Las Tóxicas (Flammer, La Hiedra & Maravilla)

Cruiserweight contendership

A five-way encounter opened the show to determine the next challenger for the AAA World Cruiserweight Championship. The contest featured Lince Dorado, Mini Vikingo, Octagón Jr., Joaquin Wilde, and Cruz Del Toro.

LWO stablemates Wilde and Del Toro worked together early on to isolate Mini Vikingo, but tensions eventually rose between the two allies. This miscommunication led to multiple pin attempts against one another.

The closing moments saw Dorado take control after executing a double stunner on Wilde and Del Toro. Dorado followed up with a brainbuster and a Shooting Star Press on Wilde to secure the pinfall victory. AAA has not yet announced a date for his championship match against titleholder Rey Fenix.

Backstage celebrations

The broadcast featured several video packages highlighting the aftermath of last week’s event. Footage showed the War Raiders and El Hijo del Vikingo celebrating their respective championship victories.

Another segment featured “The Real” El Grande Americano alongside Los Americanos. He used the time to thank fans for their support following his victory in the Mask vs. Mask match against Chad Gable.

Rey Mysterio addresses AAA

General Manager Rey Mysterio participated in a brief media segment to discuss recent developments.

Mysterio addressed the AAA Mega Championship, currently held by his son, Dominik Mysterio. He confirmed that Dominik will appear on the June 20 episode of AAA programming. The general manager then declared that the Mega Championship will be defended at Triplemanía Night 2 in September, regardless of who holds the title at that time. He vowed to treat Dominik fairly.

Six-woman tag match

The main event saw Lola Vice, Bayley, and La Catalina team up against Las Tóxicas. The opposing trio consisted of Flammer, La Hiedra, and Maravilla.

Las Tóxicas successfully isolated Vice during the middle portion of the contest. Vice eventually broke free from a submission hold and tagged Bayley, who quickly cleared the ring.

The finish arrived after Bayley dropped Maravilla with a suplex. Catalina then tagged in to strike Flammer with a hip attack and a running knee to earn the victory for her team.
