The in-ring Mysterio family is growing.
The legendary Rey Mysterio revealed in a recent interview that his daughter, Aalyah, has started training to become a professional wrestler at WWE’s Performance Center.
On a recent appearance on Undertaker’s Six Feet Under podcast, Mysterio detailed the experience of introducing Aalyah to training for wrestling. Mysterio said that he would only let her try out wrestling after she graduated from college.
Shortly after she wrapped up her studies in July 2025, Mysterio allowed her to come to the PC for a one-off training session in October of last year. She loved her time there so much that she ended up returning in February for a two-week stay at the training facility.
“We’ve been going back and forth, trying to see if Aalyah was motivated enough to go up to the PC and dedicate some time to training, like full-time,” Mysterio said. “She tried it one time with me last year, October, she loved it. She just jumped in the ring once. I said, ‘Okay, try and set you up to go out there for about two weeks. See if you can wake up every day, do this Monday through Friday, weekends off then back again Monday through Friday.’ She did two weeks and she really loved it. I wasn’t expecting that.”
Mysterio revealed that Aalyah’s planning on returning to the PC again soon for even more training.
“Now we are in May, and she’s getting ready to go up there and establish herself at the PC,” he said.
Mysterio reflected on what it’s like to have his daughter, along with his son Dominik Mysterio, both following in his footsteps and taking up wrestling. He said he’s happy that both of his children’s journeys to the industry were organic, without any pressure from him.
“If you would’ve told me your kids are going to grow up and become wrestlers, both of them, ehh, I’d think you’re wrong,” Mysterio explained. “The cool thing is, I’ve never pushed the sport down their throat. It’s all came out of them. They wanted to be part of this.”
