AEW Collision 27/6/26 Results: Moné builds momentum ahead of Forbidden Door, Multiple titles defended

Mercedes Moné and Athena defeated Maya World and Hyan on the final stop before AEW Forbidden Door.

The June 27 episode of AEW Collision from Rio Rancho, New Mexico, also saw the Conglomeration successfully defend their AEW World Trios Championship against The Opps.

Elsewhere on the taped broadcast, Kevin Knight retained the TNT Championship in a title defense against Dezmond Xavier.

The Conglomeration vs. The Opps

Orange Cassidy, Kyle O’Reilly, and Roderick Strong defended the AEW World Trios Championship to open the show. Hook and O’Reilly exchanged submission attempts early in the contest. Strong later utilized Cassidy as a makeshift battering ram against Katsuyori Shibata and Hook.

Anthony Bowens accidentally delivered a superkick to his partner Shibata. This miscommunication allowed the champions to isolate Bowens. Strong then threw Cassidy onto Bowens to secure the pinfall and retain the titles.

A Demanding twist

The Demand discussed their quest for championships in a backstage stairwell. The Lethal Twist unintentionally walked through the camera shot. Ricochet and Jay Lethal exchanged compliments about their respective haircuts before deciding to talk business off-camera.

Death Riders lay down the law

Jon Moxley addressed Swerve Strickland’s recent attack on Daniel Garcia during a backstage interview. Moxley promised that his faction would handle the issue. Will Ospreay stepped forward and vowed to deliver the kill shot against Strickland.

Kevin Knight vs. Dezmond Xavier

Kevin Knight put the TNT Championship on the line against Dezmond Xavier. The challenger executed a standing shooting star press for an early two-count. Knight later escaped a Sky Twister Press by raising his knees. He followed up with a snapping dropkick to the back of Xavier’s head. Knight then planted his opponent with the Crash Landing slam to retain the championship.

The spider weaves a web

Thekla delivered a promo on the stage alongside the Triangle of Madness. The AEW Women’s World Champion stated she would gladly burn down the Forbidden Door. Skye Blue added that she planned to show Maika her violent side at the upcoming pay-per-view.

Chris Jericho vs. JD Drake

Chris Jericho clashed with JD Drake in singles action. Drake gained momentum with a Bossman Slam and a series of heavy chops. Jericho countered a back body drop into a Codebreaker. He followed up with a running knee strike and locked in the Walls of Jericho to force a tap out.

A list of demands

Jericho summoned Tony Schiavone to the ring following the match. He applied the Walls of Jericho on Drake a second time and demanded that Schiavone declare him superior to Tommaso Ciampa. Jericho then thanked Ciampa for leaving him bloody last week, promising retribution at Beach Break.

Thunder strikes the Dominion

Thunder Rosa confronted Divine Dominion backstage to hype their upcoming title match. Rosa promised to humble the champions alongside her partner Olympia. Lexy Nair intervened to remind both parties of their strict no-contact clause.

Persephone vs. Billie Starkz

Persephone defended the CMLL World Women’s Championship against Billie Starkz. The challenger cleared the announce desk and hit a senton bomb onto Persephone on the floor. Persephone recovered and intercepted a diving attack with a spear. She executed a crucifix bomb to win the match.

Hikaru Shida struck Persephone in the back with a kendo stick after the bell. Kris Statlander, Harley Cameron, and Queen Aminata rushed the ring to make the save. Shida retreated, leaving the four babyfaces in a tense standoff.

Mistico & Mike Bailey vs. The Premier Athletes

The Premier Athletes isolated Mike Bailey to start the tag team encounter. Mistico received the hot tag and hit a springboard double back elbow on Tony Nese and Ariya Daivari. Bailey executed a triangle moonsault to the floor to neutralize Daivari. Inside the ring, Mistico applied La Mistica on Nese for the submission victory.

No Kidd-ing around

Gabe Kidd provided an update on his status via a video package. He announced that his visa issues would soon be resolved. Kidd promised to target Shota Umino immediately upon his return to the United States.

Jake Doyle vs. Adam Priest

Jake Doyle utilized his power advantage to toss Adam Priest around the ring. Priest resiliently fought back, targeting Doyle’s arm and applying an armbar submission. Doyle relied on his strength to powerbomb his way out of the hold. He caught Priest with a swinging black hole slam to score the pinfall.

A killer return

AEW aired a training vignette featuring Willow Nightingale. The “Comeback Killer” worked out in the gym and declared her intention to reclaim her position at the top of the women’s division.

Mercedes Moné & Athena vs. Maya World & Hyan

Maya World and Hyan hit stereo suicide dives to kick off the main event. Athena quickly shifted the momentum by powerbombing Hyan onto the ring apron. Moné then targeted World with a Meteora on the floor.

World secured a hot tag later in the match and hit a European uppercut on Athena. Moné trapped World in the Statement Maker submission outside the ring. Meanwhile, Athena caught Hyan with the O-Face flying stunner to secure the victory.

The victors continued their assault on Hyan after the match until World cleared the ring with superkicks followed by a moonsault onto the heels.
