Janel Grant has posted about the WWE’s investigation in 2022, reiterating that she was never contacted and that explicit material was shared without her consent.
In a series of slides posted on Instagram, Grant details several events from 2022 after WWE’s board of directors learned of the allegations against Vince McMahon and initiated its investigation.

Grant states, “I believed in good faith that I was participating in a company’s publicly announced investigation. I spent six figures on retainers and medical care. I onboarded a legal team. We spent months preparing for an investigation that closed without speaking to me.”
When reviewing documents from the now-settled shareholder lawsuit, Grant discovered that graphic evidence was presented to the special committee with descriptions of sexual images and language read out to the board members.
Grant claims no one alerted her of this sharing of graphic information, nor her attorneys.
During his deposition, former board member Jeffrey Speed described learning late into the investigation of text messages sent by Vince McMahon to a pair of individuals, one of whom is identified as Brock Lesnar, with the texts containing graphic language and photos. Speed states the board members did not see the photos, but they were read out and described to the members.
The next slide Grant posted was from the plaintiffs’ pre-trial brief in the shareholder suit, noting that “On July 22, 2022, McMahon’s counsel produced documents to the Special Committee, flagging a single “graphic” text message that McMahon separately produced” and “McMahon ‘retired’ from all roles at the Company that same day.” On the same slide, it includes a footnote from Stephanie McMahon’s deposition being asked about the graphic material and answered, “There is no board of a public company that would have a CEO with this kind of evidence against them.”

Grant’s follow-up post included her concerns about this graphic evidence being shared without her knowledge, her unawareness of how many people this was shared with, and the fact that the knowledge of material concerning her is limited to public documents. She added excerpts from depositions by Jeffrey Speed, Michelle McKenna, and Nick Khan.
Grant’s suit against WWE and Vince McMahon has not been settled, but the parties have agreed to go to arbitration pending approval from Judge Sarah Russell.
