Damian Priest has arrived in Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide.

General Manager Rey Mysterio introduced the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion during the July 4 episode of AAA on Fox.

The broadcast, taped on June 20 at Foro GNP Seguros in Mérida, Mexico, featured Priest’s first appearance in the promotion following weeks of teases of a former WWE World Champion.

Mysterio opened the show by stating his desire to make AAA the home for the biggest stars in the world. He then introduced Priest.

The 43-year-old, who currently holds one-half of the WWE Tag Team Championship alongside R-Truth on SmackDown, delivered his promo in Spanish. Priest recounted his global accomplishments and declared his intention to dominate AAA and pursue championships.

  • Later in the broadcast, Mysterio held a press conference segment where he expressed excitement over Priest’s arrival and teased a potential future appearance from Bad Bunny.

Lady Shani vs. Flammer

The night’s in-ring action began with a non-title match between Lady Shani and AAA Reina de Reinas Champion Flammer. Shani controlled the early pace before Flammer retaliated with strikes and a sit-out piledriver.

The finish saw Flammer attempt to retrieve her championship belt from ringside, but La Catalina appeared and pulled it away. Shani capitalized on the distraction, executing a backstabber and a top-rope Iconoclasm to secure the pinfall victory.

Three-way tag action

A chaotic three-way tag team match followed, featuring La Parka and Mr. Iguana against the teams of Dinamico and Drago, and Money Machine.

The bout included numerous high-flying maneuvers, culminating in La Parka catching Drago mid-air with a cutter. La Parka followed up with a Bonebreaker to claim the win for his team.

El Fiscal vs. Abismo Negro Jr.

The main event renewed the bitter rivalry between El Fiscal and Abismo Negro Jr. The two brawled aggressively from the opening bell, trading heavy strikes and utilizing the ringside area.

The match was thrown out when Karmen Petrovic and the recently reformed Los Perros del Mal faction stormed the ring. Abismo Negro Jr. fled while the group viciously attacked El Fiscal as the show went off the air.

Next week

Mysterio later noted that next week’s show will feature Damian Priest, AAA Mega Champion Dominik Mysterio, and a confrontation between El Grande Americano and Los Perros del Mal.
