AAA on Fox 7/18 Results: Andrea Bazarte accepts new contract, El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. qualifies for Latin American Title match

General Manager Rey Mysterio offered Andrea Bazarte a new contract during Saturday’s broadcast of AAA on Fox.

Elsewhere, Los Perros del Mal accepted last week’s challenge for a tag team match against Dominik Mysterio and El Grande Americano. 

El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. also secured his spot in an upcoming championship match.

The episode aired on tape delay from San Luis Potosi, Mexico, and finalized several matches for the upcoming Verano de Escandalo special.

Mysterio’s major announcements

The show opened with two significant announcements from Rey Mysterio. The General Manager invited former interviewer Andrea Bazarte to the ring. Mysterio offered Bazarte a new contract featuring a pay increase to compensate for her previous forced exit. She accepted the deal.

Mysterio then addressed the vacant AAA Latin American Championship. He revealed that a new champion will emerge from a four-way match at Triplemania. Mysterio scheduled a series of triple-threat qualifying matches to determine the remaining participants.

The upcoming qualifiers will feature:

  • La Parka vs. Mecha Wolf vs. Dragon Lee
  • El Fiscal vs. Cruz Del Toro vs. Psycho Clown
  • Omos vs. Damian Priest vs. Galeno

Latin American Championship qualifier

El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. faced Abismo Negro Jr. and Texano Jr. in the first qualifying contest. The fast-paced encounter saw Abismo Negro Jr. attempt to use brass knuckles late in the match. He missed his target, leading to a sequence where Wagner hit a discus strike.

Wagner then executed the Wagner Driver to secure the victory. The win advanced him to the championship match at Triplemania.

Mixed tag team contendership

Backstage, La Hiedra and Laredo Kid confronted AAA World Mixed Tag Team Champions Lola Vice and Mr. Iguana. Vice warned Iguana that Hiedra remained in love with him.

La Hiedra and Laredo Kid subsequently faced Faby Apache and Joaquin Wilde to determine the number one contenders for the mixed tag titles. Laredo Kid hit a rolling DDT on Wilde and followed up with a suicide dive. Hiedra capitalized on a distraction to hit a stunner for the win. The victorious duo will challenge Vice and Iguana at Verano de Escandalo.

Updates from the General Manager

Mysterio held a media scrum later in the broadcast. He confirmed the match lineups for the upcoming three-week Verano de Escandalo event. The General Manager also provided an injury update on Octagon Jr. Mysterio stated that the luchador suffered a neck injury in Monterrey and faces a long recovery.

Los Perros del Mal lay out their vision

The recently reformed Los Perros del Mal faction closed the show. Daga delivered a promo explaining that the group fights for what they deserve. He officially accepted a tag team challenge from Dominik Mysterio and El Grande Americano for Verano de Escandalo.

Mysterio and Americano then arrived on the stage. Their backup, Bravo and Rayo, appeared on the commentary desk. A massive brawl erupted between the opposing groups as the broadcast concluded.
