Sheamus reportedly remains under WWE contract until October 1, after appearing to confirm his departure from the company earlier this month.
According to Fightful Select, the 48-year-old is expected to become a free agent on that date. It is unclear whether WWE added time to his agreement for injury rehab.
Fightful reported that Sheamus decided to leave WWE after rejecting a restructured contract extension. The outlet’s latest report states that he quickly turned down that proposal.
WWE subsequently moved Sheamus to the alumni section of its website. On July 10, he changed his social media name to S. Farrelly and wrote, “Goodbye my WWE friends” in Irish.
The former world champion has not wrestled since the November 17, 2025 edition of Raw, when he teamed with John Cena and Rey Mysterio against Dominik Mysterio, Finn Bálor and JD McDonagh. He underwent shoulder surgery the following month.
Neither WWE nor Sheamus has publicly clarified his contractual status.
