Nontitle Match

Monday Night Raw from Detroit kicked off with the tag team match between Je’Von Evans and Dragon Lee taking on WWE Tag Team Champions The Vision in a nontitle match. This was the first time Raw began with a match in what seems like eons. Evans and Lee jumped The Vision before the bell rang, hitting them with dives to the outside as the match began. Logan Paul provided an early distraction, allowing Bron Breakker to catch Dragon Lee in mid-air and slam him to the mat. After an ad break, Lee made the hot tag to Evans, and he took it to Theory and Breakker, taking Breakker out with a dive into the timekeeper’s area. Logan Paul distracted the faces again, and Maxxine Dupri grabbed Dragon’s leg, allowing The Vision to nearly pick up the win. Breakker hit Lee with the running spear and picked up the pinfall victory.

After the match, the heels double-teamed Je’Von Evans, but Otis & Tozawa came down to fight off The Vision. Maxxine slapped Otis, but he no-sold it and continued his assault on Breakker and Theory. Otis and Tozawa set up to put Theory through the announce table but Breakker hit two running spears on Otis.

Judgment Day had Danhausen by the throat backstage, demanding their money. He said he didn’t have it but would go find it. 

 

Another Big Cass promo aired, with headlines about him having issues and again teased 8/3 as the return date.

Human Monies

Danhausen was out next, with an attaché case in hand. He said he wanted to give away Judgment Day’s human monies to the crowd, and that brought out JD, Dom, and Liv. Danhausen cursed them, and the three jumped him. This brought out Joe Hendry to make the save. In the melee, Liv grabbed the case, and the heels retreated.

Minutes later backstage, JD opened the bag and found Danhausen-themed money and called it fake (even though real money was seen as well). JD threw the case, and it hit Oba Femi. Adam Pearce made two matches: Oba Femi vs. JD McDonagh starting right away and Joe Hendry vs. Dominik Mysterio later in the evening.

Oba Femi vs. JD McDonagh

The next match was the aforementioned JD McDonagh taking on Oba Femi after JD accidentally hit Femi with the attaché case. Adam Pearce was shooing Dom and JD to the ring when Danhausen and Hendry appeared, throwing them into the ring. The bell rang, and Femi took out both men, pinning JD after a Fall From Grace in under a minute. 

Solo & Seth

Solo Sikoa appeared, saying he wasn’t supposed to be there, but requested Seth Rollins come down to the ring, to which Seth obliged instantaneously. Solo explained to Rollins that he was facing the whole Bloodline at SummerSlam, four against one. Sikoa offered to watch Rollins’ back during the match against Reigns, and Seth said he’d think about it. This brought out Jacob Fatu, which led to Solo leaving through the crowd. Rollins blindsided Fatu with a superkick and left him lying. 

Page & Rusev vs. Gable & Penta

Next was the SummerSlam opponents Chad Gable and Penta teaming up to take on Rusev and Ethan Page. Page and Rusev controlled early on, cheating behind the referee’s back. After a commercial, Gable mounted a comeback, hitting Page with the Angle Slam for a two-count. Rusev trapped Gable in the Accolade, but Gable was able to fight out of it. Gable applied the Ankle Lock to Rusev, and Penta hit a Mexican Destroyer to Page as Rusev tapped out. 

Seth Rollins ran into Jacob Fatu backstage and begged him to hit him. Rollins said he knew that Jacob was under strict orders from Reigns not to lay a finger on him. Rollins asked if he would get possession of Fatu when he wins at SummerSlam. Fatu said if there was anything left of Rollins after SummerSlam, he’d beat his ass. 

A Paul Heyman vignette aired where he said that he was asked not to use the word “violence” when hyping Hell in a Cell at SummerSlam. Heyman noted that Lesnar had never lost a Hell in a Cell match and that streak would continue. 

Dirty Dom vs. Joe Hendry

The next match saw Dominik Mysterio, accompanied by Liv Morgan, taking on Joe Hendry. Early in the match, Hendry slammed Mysterio on the announce table, but with the referee distracted, Liv threw Hendry into the ring post. This brought out Danhausen, but Liv nailed him with a punch before he could curse them. After an ad break, Hendry fought from underneath as he hit Dom with a fallaway slam and the “Hit Single” discus lariat for a near fall. Liv got involved again, and this brought Danhausen back out with Iyo Sky. Liv and Iyo started brawling, spilling into the ring. This distraction allowed Danhausen to hit Mysterio with the Danhausen Death Drop, and Hendry picked up the win. Later, it was announced that Danhausen would face Dom at SummerSlam. 

LA Knight vs. Jacob Fatu

LA Knight was out next and cut a promo ahead of his match with Fatu. Knight said Seth Rollins vs. Roman Reigns at SummerSlam made him sick. He didn’t appreciate Solo offering to help Rollins but said they would take down the Bloodline together. This led directly into the match between the two.

The match began during a commercial break, and once back live, Jacob took control until Knight slammed Fatu’s leg into the ring post. The two warred back and forth in and out of the ring as the show went back into commercial. Upon return, Knight hit Fatu with a Superplex when Jimmy Uso appeared, and Solo attacked Jimmy on the outside.

Jacob hit Solo with a dive to the outside to stop him. Knight hit Fatu with the BFT, and Jimmy jumped onto the apron so the referee wouldn’t count. Royce Keys appeared, taking out Jimmy Uso. This brought out Jey Uso, who attacked Keys. Knight took out Jey but got hit with Fatu’s moonsault, and Fatu picked up the win. Everyone started brawling at this point, with The Bloodline coming out on top.
