Avery Styles, the 19-year-old son of AJ Styles, is to appear at TNA Lockdown in Chicago on Sunday.
TNA announced Styles’ appearance on Saturday, accompanying the news with a graphic advertising him for the event at Credit Union 1 Arena. The promotion did not indicate what role Styles will have on the show or whether he will compete.

Styles made his professional wrestling debut on June 26, defeating Ashton Martin at a Squared Circle Action event in Royston, Georgia. His father accompanied him to ringside and became involved in the finish, which ended with Avery delivering a Styles Clash.
He subsequently made his GCW debut and wrestled on consecutive nights in Omaha and Minneapolis at the end of July and beginning of August.
His August 1 loss to Marcus Mathers at GCW’s Rude Awakening later became the focus of a social media dispute. After Nattie Neidhart praised Styles for being willing to “pay his dues,” F1RST Wrestling promoter Arik Cannon claimed the rookie had avoided helping with work around the venue.
AJ Styles publicly defended his son, and GCW stated that Cannon did not speak on its behalf. GCW owner Brett Lauderdale came to Avery’s defense, saying the teenager deserved the same latitude afforded to other young wrestlers learning the business.
Avery’s appearance also brings the Styles name back to a promotion closely associated with his father’s career. AJ Styles was part of TNA from its inaugural year in 2002 until 2014 and became one of the company’s defining wrestlers, winning its world, X Division and tag team championships multiple times. TNA paid tribute to Styles following his retirement earlier this year.
