From All In to Allen

AEW Dynamite from Allen, Texas, kicked off with new AEW World Champion Will Ospreay cutting an in-ring promo, saying he has been on a bender since winning the title on Sunday at All In. He credited Kenny Omega, calling him still the best wrestler in the world. Ospreay pointed out they both had two wins and said if Kenny wasn’t satisfied, to name the time and place. He continued, saying that he struggled with confidence, but now he can confidently say that he is the best. Ospreay thanked the United Empire and announced that he was going to bring his own version of the UE to AEW.

The Demand interrupted, and Ricochet said that Ospreay has known him for a long time, and he wouldn’t have been in the main event of All In without him. With that, Ricochet demanded the first title shot but was interrupted by Gabe Kidd and Clark Connors. Kidd said that Ospreay took his chance to be the first English IWGP Champion and AEW Champion. The Demand, Kidd, and Connors approached the ring when United Empire appeared to stand with Ospreay. Ospreay proposed they face off in the main event later that night, but it was set to be four-versus-five. 

Trios Championship

The first match of the night was the first-ever defense by the new champions, Swerve Strickland and the New Level, against The Rascalz. The match started at high speed, as expected, with both teams trading blows as the crowd chanted for Swerve and New Level. Swerve and Creed stopped a trios dive by the Rascalz, and Kofi took advantage by hitting a leap of faith dive onto the pile on the outside. After a commercial break, Creed fought from underneath and built to a hot tag to Kofi. Things broke down from there with all six men in the ring and devolved into the Rascalz getting a near fall on Swerve. Then came a series of dives onto the floor by members of both teams, culminating in Myron Reed hitting a diving cutter over the top rope and somehow also hitting Swerve with a Rana.

The finish saw Swerve hit a midair House Call on Xavier, followed by a New Level tag team maneuver, and another House Call by Swerve for the win. 

Young Bucks & FTR & Cage/Copeland

As the Trios Champions were leaving, The Young Bucks appeared and had a staredown with New Level before heading to the ring. After an ad break, Matt and Nick cut an in-ring promo, questioning how Copeland and Cage beat them at Wembley, calling them out. Instead, FTR and Stokely appeared, saying that the Bucks blew it at Revolution and All In, and they were going to blow it again. The two teams went back and forth when Cage and Copeland interrupted, and Christian removed his forearm brace, saying that they beat both teams in the ring. Christian wondered why either team wouldn’t take a 50% pay cut and go somewhere else instead of being embarrassed by them again. Copeland said he wasn’t happy with how they won, as he had reviewed the footage and suggested a three-way TLC match at All Out. 

United Empire was interviewed backstage, and Callum Newman immediately complained about it being called Will’s United Empire. Ospreay shut him down, saying he didn’t need his permission to expand the Empire in AEW. Newman announced he had a fifth partner, and it was someone who had been in UE before. With that, Andrade El Idolo revealed himself, congratulated Ospreay, and the quintet left to prepare for their match. 

TNT Championship

The next match was Darby Allin defending his newly won TNT title against Mark Davis, who pounced on Darby from out of nowhere as he was skateboarding to the ring. Davis brutalized Darby around the ring, throwing him over the timekeeper’s area before the match officially began. 

The show went to commercial, and Davis continued his assault through the crowd. Upon return, Darby hit a Coffin Drop from above one of the tunnels onto Davis on the floor. Finally, the two made their way back, where Darby hit a flying crossbody, sending Davis over the barrier and into the ringside area. Darby nailed Davis with his skateboard, and Davis no-sold it, nailing him with a stiff-looking forearm shot to the face. And that’s when they made it to the ring, and the bell finally rang. 

After Darby got pummeled some more and kicked out of a pinfall attempt, the show went back to a commercial. When back, Darby finally turned things around by typing one of Davis’ hands with the tag rope. Davis slammed Darby with one hand and freed himself, resuming his attack. The brutality continued as both men hit insane moves until Darby finally hit two consecutive Coffin Drops for the win. 

RPG Vice immediately ran down, attacking Darby until Steven Borden ran down, taking them out with insanely high dropkicks. Mark Davis stared down Borden, but the returning Josh Alexander jumped him from behind. Alexander applied an Ankle Lock on Darby whilst Davis hit a piledriver on Borden, leaving both lying. 

A promo shot after All In at Wembley aired, with MJF claiming that Will Ospreay was everything wrong with his life. He warned Ospreay that payback was coming and he would never see it coming. 

Windsor vs. Bayne

Next, Megan Bayne took on Alex Windsor after Divine Dominion lost their tag titles to the Brawling Birds at All In. Bayne laid in some heavy shots early, but Windsor gained control with a diving cannonball going into an ad break. When back, both women exchanged offense, with Bayne hitting two consecutive German Suplexes and a big lariat for a two-count. Windsor and Bayne exchanged near falls as they spilled to the ring apron, with Windsor faceplanting Bayne on the mat. Lena Kross grabbed one of the tag titles when Jamie Hayter attacked her, and the two brawled, distracting the referee and allowing Bayne to hit Windsor with the belt. Bayne hit Windsor with the Running Powerbomb, or Megabomb, for the win. 

Jericho was interviewed backstage, saying he didn’t lose the Casion Gauntlet because Nick Wayne got pinned. Wayne interrupted, saying he took Jericho out of the match and that he is only twenty-one. Jericho admitted that Wayne was better than he was at twenty-one, but made fun of his Pooka Shelf necklace, causing Wayne to slap him. The two brawled until Wayne hit him with a low blow and left.
