AEW has requested additional time to serve Ryan Nemeth after failing to do so in its ongoing case with its former wrestler.

On Thursday, AEW filed a notice in the Middle District of Florida, believing that Nemeth has evaded being served. Judge Patricia D. Barksdale has approved the extension, and the following notice was posted.
The deadline to serve Ryan Nemeth with process is extended to December 2, 2026. In the event the defendant and his counsel are monitoring the docket, they are reminded of this rule: “If a defendant located within the United States fails, without good cause, to sign and return a waiver requested by a plaintiff located within the United States, the court must impose on the defendant: (A) the expenses later incurred in making service; and (B) the reasonable expenses, including attorney’s fees, of any motion required to collect those service expenses.
Nemeth filed a complaint in February 2025 against AEW, Tony Khan, and CM Punk in the Superior Court of California alleging assault, professional retaliation, and being blacklisted within pro wrestling, as well as AEW breaching his contract, among other accusations. Nemeth voluntarily dismissed the suit in April 2025 with the parties agreeing to arbitration. However, the sides disagreed on where the arbitration process would occur, with Nemeth filing to have it adjudicated in California and AEW arguing its contracts would stipulate arbitration occurring in Duval County, Florida.
Nemeth is a regular with TNA and currently holds its tag titles with brother, Nic. The promotion’s next set of TV tapings is on September 24 & 25 in San Antonio, Texas.
