Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling’s Northern Rising event will receive a three-week broadcast window on TSN, MyAEW, and Fight Nation.
Last weekend’s card at the Mattamy Athletic Centre (the former Maple Leaf Gardens) in Toronto will air over three weeks, beginning on Wednesday, October 14 and continuing on October 21 and October 28.
The show aired last Saturday as a pay-per-view on MyAEW and Fight Nation (a French-language streaming service in Europe) and was headlined by Adam Copeland facing Steve Maclin in a street fight. The event was promoted around Copeland’s first match on the historic grounds where he attended WWF shows as a child. WWF had shifted its house shows from Maple Leaf Gardens to the SkyDome (now Rogers Centre) once he had joined the promotion, so he never had a chance to wrestle there.
Northern Rising was the “season finale” for the inaugural 12-episode Mayhem series, which was broadcast on TSN 2 on Wednesday nights at Midnight ET and streamed on MyAEW. The addition of Northern Rising would bode well for MLP securing a second season of Mayhem, which MLP president Scott D’Amore was very optimistic about when speaking with the media last week.
Northern Rising featured an MLP Canadian Championship unification between Josh Alexander and Stu Grayson, and Andrade El Idolo defending the AEW National title against Rohan Raja among the matches.
