Four matches are official for NJPW’s Power Struggle event in Hiroshima next month.
During King of Pro Wrestling on Monday, multiple angles set up matches for November 3, including Kenny Omega’s return to an NJPW ring.
Omega appeared on video, addressing Yota Tsuji and indicating a future match between them. Then, Boltin Oleg entered the ring to challenge Tsuji, with the two being jumped by Omega in person. It sets up a non-title match between the three with the story that if Omega wins, he will get an IWGP title match, presumably at Wrestle Kingdom 21. Oleg is inserted into the match after pinning Tsuji in the G1 Climax this past summer.
Will Ospreay teams with Callum Newman to challenge OSKAR & Yuto-Ice for the IWGP tag titles as the inner turmoil among the United Empire continues. Ospreay challenged the Knockout Bros. to a title match, but Yuto-Ice accepted because he could choose his partner. It would be logical that the Power Struggle match takes the Ospreay vs. Newman program to the next level for the eventual match.
Jon Moxley will wrestle in Hiroshima after appearing on video at King of Pro Wrestling after the challenge was issued by Shingo Takagi last month. Moxley will team with Wheeler Yuta of the Death Riders against Shingo Takagi and Jeff Cobb.
Power Struggle takes place on Tuesday, November 3, in Hiroshima Sun Plaza Hall.
