Hangman Page, Bandido & Brody King won the AEW World Trios Championship by defeating Swerve Strickland & The New Level in a two-out-of-three falls match at WrestleDream.
The challengers won the deciding fall when Bandido countered Strickland’s Big Pressure into a victory roll at Addition Financial Arena in Orlando, Florida.
The match was a rematch from AEW All Out, where Strickland, Austin Creed & Kofi retained after Strickland pinned Bandido.
First fall
The champions concentrated on Bandido during the opening stretch, with Creed & Kofi combining on a series of double-team attacks.
Kofi ultimately pinned Bandido after Creed held him in position for a top-rope leg drop, putting the champions ahead 1-0.
Second fall
Page and Strickland immediately renewed their rivalry, trading punches before Page hit the Dead Eye. Creed & Kofi pulled Strickland from the ring before Page could make the cover.
The challengers later took control as the match broke down among all six wrestlers. Page hit Strickland with a Buckshot Lariat before King positioned Creed for Bandido.
King then monkey-flipped Bandido into a 450 Splash onto Creed, allowing Bandido to score the pin and level the match at one fall apiece.
Third fall
The deciding fall included several dives to the floor before the champions isolated Bandido and delivered a double stomp onto Strickland’s knees.
King responded with a dive onto all three champions, while Page & Bandido combined for a Buckshot Lariat/German suplex sequence on Creed. Strickland broke up the pin with a Swerve Stomp.
Page and Strickland again exchanged strikes, with Page accidentally hitting King during the sequence. Strickland followed with a House Call that sent King from the apron before hitting Page with a Swerve Stomp.
Later, Bandido delivered a double fallaway slam from the ropes to Creed & Kofi before turning his attention to Strickland.
Strickland landed on his feet out of an attempted 21-Plex and went for Big Pressure, but Bandido countered into a victory roll for the three-count and the championship.
Afterward, Strickland took possession of the title belts and initially refused to hand them over.
Creed & Kofi disagreed and presented their belts to Bandido & King before shaking hands and embracing the new champions. Strickland eventually held the remaining belt out toward Page, only to drop it to the mat as Page reached for it.
Strickland & The New Level had held the titles since winning them in the Trios Roulette Royale at All In: London on August 30.
