The Young Bucks retained the AEW World Tag Team Championship against Kevin Knight & Kyle Fletcher at WrestleDream on Saturday.
Matt & Nick Jackson pinned Knight after a BTE Trigger at Addition Financial Arena in Orlando, Florida.
Knight & Fletcher controlled several stretches of the match and repeatedly matched the Bucks’ pace, including borrowing some of their opponents’ trademark double-team offense early on.
The challengers came close after Knight hit a Coast-to-Coast dropkick and Fletcher followed with a sheer-drop brainbuster. Fletcher later delivered a top-rope brainbuster before Knight added a UFO Splash, but Nick broke up the pin.
The match then began to unravel for the challengers.
Knight tagged himself in as Fletcher appeared to want to remain legal, prompting an argument between the partners. Moments later, Knight attempted a springboard clothesline intended for the Bucks but struck Fletcher instead.
Matt & Nick immediately capitalized, hitting Knight with the BTE Trigger for the three-count.
Earlier, the Bucks also survived a series of high-impact sequences that included Fletcher hitting a Michinoku Driver and Knight landing a standing hurricanrana while Matt and Nick were positioned on their opponents’ shoulders.
The champions later hit Knight with a Meltzer Driver on the floor after running across the commentary desks.
Knight & Fletcher earned their title opportunity at All Out when they defeated Darby Allin & Steven Borden after the match was stopped by the ringside doctor.
The Young Bucks became the first four-time AEW World Tag Team Champions later that night, winning a three-way ladder match against then-champions Adam Copeland & Christian Cage and FTR.
After Saturday’s defense, Nick Jackson was heard telling the camera, “I don’t know how many of those I have left, Tony,” as the Bucks celebrated up the ramp.
