Will Ospreay will team with Adam Copeland, and an opponent has been revealed for Ilja Dragunov’s AEW in-ring debut.
The post-WrestleDream edition of Dynamite on Wednesday is set to feature a first-time team-up involving Will Ospreay and Adam Copeland against Kyle Fletcher and Kevin Knight. The match was teased at the post-show press conference this past Saturday and comes after Ospreay and Copeland were featured in the Clockwork Carnage match. In the final seconds, Ospreay hit Copeland with the Hidden Blade and pinned him to win the match with his third fall.
Last week, Copeland announced he would be retiring in 2027, and it was made clear that Ospreay and Copeland are expected to have a match for the title eventually.
Ilja Dragunov will be taking on Speedball Mike Bailey in his first match with AEW. Dragunov debuted at WrestleDream, and it was announced he would wrestle on Dynamite. It will be Dragunov’s first match since April, after allowing his WWE contract to expire this past April and awaiting a visa to be processed before his arrival in the new company.
Finally, Maya World will return to the ring on Wednesday and is scheduled for a #1 contender’s match against Queen Aminata for a shot at the TBS Championship. Maya World was injured last month after wrestling on the Rebel Heart edition of Dynamite on September 9.
Dynamite is scheduled for the Watsco Center in Coral Gables, Florida, with WrestleTix reporting that approximately 3,000 tickets have been distributed.
