It looks like another big name is out at AEW.

Rey Fenix is no longer listed on the official roster page for AEW as of Monday afternoon. PWInsider has since reported that he’s a free agent, ending his multi-year run with the company.

The removal of Fenix from the promotion’s official site is a recent development, as an archived version of the roster from February shows him still listed among active talent in the promotion.

In the past, a wrestler’s disappearance from the AEW roster page has been a sign of a possible departure from the company.

Earlier this year, AEW removed Miro, Ricky Starks and Malakai Black from their official roster page around the same time when news surfaced that all three had parted ways with the promotion.

Many have speculated on Fenix’s status in the company in recent months. For a brief period of time, it seemed he would possibly have to wait long to leave the promotion. A report last September claimed that he had an extra year added to his contract to make up for injury time.

A large portion of Fenix’s multi-year run in the brand was built around the “Lucha Brothers” tag duo alongside Penta, who left AEW in 2023 and made his WWE debut just a couple of months back. Free agency could set him up for a possible reuniting with Penta in the coming months.

Fenix has been off AEW programming since July when he faced Tony Nese on an episode of Collision.
