An Ordinary Death

AEW Dynamite from Garland, Texas, kicked off with Mercedes Monê and Timeless Toni Storm having a face-off in the ring. Storm said that everyone dies, and Mercedes fears an ordinary life, but Toni fears an ordinary death. The two then toasted champagne ahead of their match Saturday and attempted to attack each other, but Moné was able to bail before it became too physical.

Jon Moxley cut a backstage promo saying he’s never lost a war of attrition, and Hangman has to go “all in” to beat him. After that, a limo pulled up to the building, and The Young Bucks emerged. This led directly into the first match of the night.

Bandido & Brody King vs. Takeshita & Fletcher

The somewhat unsuspecting team of Bandido and Brody King took to the Don Callis Family early. After a commercial break, Bandido hit the frog splash on Fletcher for a near fall. After that, it became the Bandido show with him hitting a number of impressive moves on his opponents. Ultimately, Takeshita regained the momentum and hit the Raging Fire for the win.

Outrun It Back

An Outrunners video package aired with them saying they were not done with FTR. Afterwards, backstage, Renee Paquette interviewed The Patriarchy and FTR, and Christian proposed teaming up tomorrow night on Collision. Christian wasn’t having Stokely’s ideas, however.

Ricochet was out next, taking on Blake Christian. Gates of Agony appeared to be in the corner of Ricochet. Christian hung in with Ricochet for a while but ultimately lost to a Spirit Gun and Vertigo from Ricochet. After the match, Gates of Agony attacked Christian, laying him out.

Next, Renee Paquette interviewed The Hurt Syndicate backstage, and they found a whiteboard with Jetspeed reveling in the fact that Kevin Knight pinned Shelton Benjamin last week. MVP said they would take care of business while MJF could take on Mark Briscoe.

The First-Ever “Talky-Talk”

Next, Mark Briscoe and MJF had their “Talky-Talk” in which Briscoe called MJF “Bankrupt”. MJF admitted that Jey Briscoe will go down as one of the best pro wrestlers of all time, but Mark should have been in the accident instead of Jey. A brawl ensued, with The Hurt Syndicate joining the fray. JetSpeed then appeared, and MJF ran off through the crowd. Then, the Patriarchy appeared and added its beatdown to the Hurt Syndicate.

#2 Spot for the Women’s Casino Gauntlet

Next up was the match to determine the #2 entrant into the Women’s Gauntlet at All In this Saturday between Thekla, Megan Bayne, Tay Melo, and Queen Aminata. All four went back and forth until Megan Bayne threw Thekla out of the ring onto their opponents. Penelope Ford and Anna Jay got involved toward the end of this match, but ultimately, Megan Bayne picked up the victory with the running powerbomb on Queen Aminata. Kris Statlander watched from the outside and applauded Bayne’s win. Later backstage, Queen Aminata attacked Thekla, and they had to be separated. Mark Briscoe then appeared and cut a bumbling, fiery promo on MJF.

Samoa Joe vs. Wheeler Yuta

Wheeler Yuta hung in with Samoa Joe in this match for a while, with both opponents’ partners not at the ringside. Samoa Joe tapped out Wheeler Yuta with the Coquina Clutch, and shortly thereafter, Gabe Kidd appeared to attack Samoa Joe. Powerhouse Hobbs and Shibata showed up to clean house, and this led directly into the next match.

The main event of the night was Hangman Adam Page teaming with Will Ospreay, Powerhouse Hobbs, and Katsuyori Shibata to take on Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, and the Young Bucks.

Powerhouse Hobbs was put through a table by Moxley and Castagnoli, and that was followed up by Moxley putting Shibata in the Bulldog Choke for the tapout victory. After the match, a brawl ensued with Gabe Kidd joining back in. The Young Bucks produced plastic bags (a la Bryan Danielson), but Swerve appeared on the screen and smashed the Bucks’ limousine with a backhoe.

Meanwhile, in the ring, Hangman ended up in a staredown with Jon Moxley before Marina Shafir rescued Moxley. The Bucks then ran outside to survey the damage, only to be met with Prince Nana and a stomp attack from Swerve Strickland.
