SummerSlam 2025 began with Roman Reigns and Jey Uso defeating Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker.

The opening match was preceded by a video package fronted by comedian and online influencer, Druski.

After this, SummerSlam’s official host Cardi B made her entrance for a brief appearance in the ring to welcome the fans.

Jey Uso then made his way to the ring through the fans from the concourse, followed by Reigns.

Bronson Reed, Bron Breakker and Paul Heyman came down the ramp together, with Reed wearing Reigns’ sneakers around his neck. Reed had stolen the shoes on Monday Night Raw. Before the bell, Reed placed the shoes around Heyman’s neck.

As the match started, Reigns went after Reed while Uso brawled with Breakker. With the heels tossed outside, Jey called for his music to be played again. During another brawl outside the ring, Reigns was thrown into the ring steps.

Finally, the match proper got started with Uso and Breakker, who immediately hit a huge running lariat. After tagging out to Reed, he then launched himself at a still-recovering Reigns.

This kicked off a lengthy period of punishment for Uso, who was unable to get a tag to Reigns but would not give up.

Finally, Reigns was tagged in and went after Breakker, before taking out both heels with an enormous dive over the top rope.

Back in the ring, Breakker went for the spear but was intercepted with a Superman Punch.

Not to be outdone, Reed launched a dive of his own onto both Uso and Reigns, allowing Breakker to clothesline Reigns right over the Spanish announce desk.

However, Roman would rally to spear Breakker through the barricade.

As Reed headed up to deliver a Tsunami onto Uso, Reigns delivered a Superman Punch and he and Uso hit the 1D. Breakker broke up the pin.

In the finish, Breakker teed up for a big spear on Uso, but Reigns pushed his cousin out of the way and ate the move. This allowed Uso to deliver a spear of his own on Reed, followed by the Uso Splash to grab the pinfall.

Seeing his team lose, Heyman quickly retreated on the ramp, still wearing Reigns’ shoes around his neck.
