A sudden change to this weekend’s Forbidden Door lineup has allowed an AEW talent to book his first in-ring appearance in just under a year.
Nick Wayne announced on Wednesday’s episode of Dynamite that he won’t be able to compete this Sunday at Forbidden Door, where he was scheduled to wrestle alongside Kip Sabian against the reuniting Adam Copeland and Christian Cage.
As revealed by Wayne this week, a broken foot has forced him out of action, preventing his appearance on Sunday night. Taking his place, he announced, would be Killswitch (also known as Luchasaurus).
Luchasaurus appeared in the ring on Wednesday, where he chokeslammed both Copeland and former boss Cage.
Killswitch has been out of action for a year, with his last appearance dating back to All In 2024, when he competed in a Casino Gauntlet match. He has spent a large part of the past year recovering after suffering from pneumonia in both lungs last September, an illness which left him hospitalized briefly.
Previously aligned with Cage, Killswitch will now face off against his past leader as part of Sunday’s show at The O2 in London, England.
