Big Bill issued a direct challenge to the long-absent Eddie Kingston during Saturday’s broadcast of AEW Collision.

The call-out occurred in a backstage promo, potentially heralding the return of Kingston, who has been sidelined for more than a year with a severe leg injury.

In his promo, Big Bill contrasted his New York roots with the city of Philadelphia. He then referenced another “tough guy” from New York who he claimed likes to run his mouth but has not been seen in some time, before explicitly naming Eddie Kingston and calling him out.

Former ROH World Champion Eddie Kingston has been out of action since May 11, 2024. He sustained his injury at New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Resurgence event during a match against Gabe Kidd. The spot, a suplex through a table, resulted in Kingston’s legs hitting a guardrail, causing a broken leg, a torn ACL, and a torn meniscus.

Kingston provided an update on his status last month in an interview with Cezar Bononi. Although not yet medically cleared, he noted that he was actively preparing for a return.
